Logging in and finding your way around
This is the best place to start if you’re new to MaintenanceOps. You’ll sign in, learn how the app is organized, and know where to go when you’re ready to start working.
Section titled “Sign in”Open app.maintenanceops.app in a browser on your computer, tablet, or phone. Enter the email address and password for your account.
If you don’t have an account yet, an administrator at your organization will need to add you first.
If you’ve forgotten your password — or you’re signing in for the first time and don’t have one — enter your email address and select Forgot password?. If an account exists for that address, you’ll receive a reset link by email. Open the link, set your password, and sign in.
Learn the navigation
Section titled “Learn the navigation”The sidebar on a computer is the main navigation for MaintenanceOps. Your organization’s name and logo appear at the top, followed by the areas you have permission to use.
| Area | What you use it for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | See what needs attention first |
| Work orders / PM schedules | Manage reactive and planned maintenance |
| Assets / Parts / Locations | Maintain the operational records behind the work |
| Life Safety | Manage inspections, deficiencies, and compliance work |
| Library / Vendors / Manufacturers | Keep procedures, documents, and outside-service information organized |
| Reports | Review trends and export operational information |
| Settings / Users | Configure the organization when your access allows it |
What you see depends on your role and permissions. A technician may see only the tools needed for daily work, while managers and administrators may see additional setup and reporting areas.
On a phone
Section titled “On a phone”MaintenanceOps is designed to work in the field. On smaller screens, the full sidebar is replaced by a menu button at the top right. Tap it to open navigation, choose where you want to go, and the menu closes automatically.
Start with the dashboard
Section titled “Start with the dashboard”After signing in, you land on the Dashboard. It is designed to answer one question quickly: What needs attention right now?
Depending on your role and setup, you may see work orders, Life Safety actions, preventive maintenance, team workload, vendor compliance, renewals, and other operational blocks.
For a full walkthrough, see The dashboard, explained.
Find what you need
Section titled “Find what you need”Most list pages, including Work orders and Assets, include a search box near the top. Use it to narrow the list instead of clicking through records one by one.
On the Work orders page, search can help you find work by title, description, work-order number, location, or assigned person.
Keep MaintenanceOps current
Section titled “Keep MaintenanceOps current”MaintenanceOps updates itself. When a new version is available, a New Update button appears near the top of the sidebar, often with a short note about what changed. Select it to reload the app and use the latest version. Updating does not change or remove your data.
What to do next
Section titled “What to do next”If this is your first time in MaintenanceOps, continue in this order:
- The dashboard, explained — understand what needs attention.
- Customizing your dashboard — arrange the home screen around your work.
- Creating a work order — create your first piece of work and start using the system day to day.
